Automation Rules

Rule types, triggers, and safe outputs.

Automation rules let you respond at scale without losing control. Combine a rule type, trigger, and response mode to build safe workflows you can test and iterate.

Rule types

  • Greeter: welcome messages for new followers or first‑time DMs.
  • Upsell: offer premium content when intent is high.
  • Follow‑up: re‑engage after a delay or no response.

Trigger options

  • ON_FOLLOW — run when someone follows.
  • ON_MESSAGE — run when a new inbound DM arrives.
  • SCHEDULED — run after a delay or on a schedule.

Safe output modes

  • Draft only: store a draft for review.
  • Auto‑send: send immediately after validation.

What counts as “success”

  • Rule fired without validation errors.
  • Message delivered (or drafted) as expected.
  • Audit log captured the run and outcome.

Best practices

  • Start in Draft mode and review outputs.
  • Keep rule text short, clear, and on‑brand.
  • Test after changing triggers or credentials.
  • Use follow‑ups sparingly to avoid fatigue.
